Terms of Use

Effective 2026-08-26

These terms apply to your use of ReturnCheck (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them.

1. What the Service is

The Service is an information site: it explains how to check an electronic device for faults and provides simple tests that run in your browser. It is free and requires no account.

The Service is not a manufacturer, retailer, or repair provider. It does not officially determine whether a product is defective, and it does not handle returns, exchanges, or refunds on your behalf.

2. Limits of the test results

The tests are limited to what a browser can observe. A result is a record of what you saw and heard yourself, not a technical diagnosis.

  • Finding no problem in a test is not a guarantee that the device has no defect.
  • Results can vary with screen brightness, ambient noise, differences between browsers and operating systems, and the state of any connected peripherals.
  • Items a browser cannot judge — battery life, storage health, thermals — are covered in written guides only.

3. Limits of liability

The Service is provided free of charge and "as is". The operator is not liable for the outcome of decisions you make on the basis of its guidance or test results, such as returning, exchanging, or buying a device. Liability for damage caused by the operator's wilful misconduct or gross negligence is not excluded.

The same applies to interruptions of the Service. Results are stored nowhere and disappear when you leave the screen, so write down anything you need to keep while it is still shown.

4. Content and copyright

The guides, tools, and design of the Service belong to the operator. You are free to read and quote them for personal purposes; please credit the source when you quote. Reproducing all or a substantial part of them elsewhere is not permitted without prior consent.

Manufacturer and retailer names and trademarks mentioned in the content belong to their respective owners. The Service has no partnership with, and no sponsorship from, those companies.

5. Prohibited use

You may not place an excessive automated load on the Service, alter it and provide it to third parties, or use it for any purpose that breaks the law.

6. Advertising

The Service may serve advertising to cover its running costs. Personal data handling related to advertising follows the Privacy Policy.

7. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the change and its effective date will be posted on this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
